CENTRE FOR RESEARCH

Centre for Research (CFR), formally instituted in 2019, is dedicated to cater to the immense passion for research amongst our faculty and students. Two major activities are organized by CFR viz. the Summer Internship Programme and Annual Projects.

Summer Internship Programme is carried out in the months of May-July every year wherein students under the guidance of teachers carry out two month projects in college. Before the project proposals are invited, CFR conducts an orientation programme for mentors and mentees to give them a glimpse of how the CFR works and guide the students to choose the problem they can work on. Every year the proposals are invited based on a theme which is generally broad to cover all the disciplines in college. The proposals are invited in the months of March-April and are then sent for review to the subject experts. After review, the projects are selected based on the reviewer comments and the selected projects are executed in the summer break. After execution, students submit project reports to CFR. The project reports are again sent for evaluation to external subject matter experts. After evaluation, the students present the results of their projects before an external jury. The combined score of reviewers and external jury is considered for final results of the competition. 

Annual Projects have been introduced by CFR since January, 2020. This program is tailored for those faculty and students who want to actively pursue research activities throughout the year. It helps in executing the experiments or projects which are not possible during a short period of 2 months during summer break. CFR also organizes educational trips for various departments every academic year. Other than these, regular workshops are organized for students to train them in all aspects of research proposal writing and effective presentations. The projects under CFR are run with the input and assistance from Advisory Committee for Professional Grooming (ACPG), a Staff Council Committee of the college.

CFR has embarked on a new venture in the form of a peer reviewed e-journal from 2020. The e-journal is titled ‘Vantage: Journal of Thematic Analysis’. It is a multidisciplinary peer-reviewed journal and publishes high quality research papers. This bi-annual journal is published in the months of April and October.
