Greenhouse Facility

Greenhouses are essentially structures that facilitate growth of plants under protection from the erratic and unpredictable climate. Greenhouses were traditionally made of glass and captured the heat of the sun thus allowing growth of different plants even in cold regions. As technology evolved, several other materials like garden green-net (shade net green house) or special UV-stabilized polythene sheet, multi walled polycarbonate sheets that allow for thermal insulation have been deployed successfully. Currently prefabricated porta cabins and heavy shipping containers have also been successfully converted into greenhouses for augmenting farm incomes.

At Maitreyi, under the Atharvan Skill Development Centre, a state of the art greenhouse has been constructed to support hydroponic cultivation of plants. It will support skill enhancement courses for Greenhouse Technology, Hydroponic & Aeroponic cultivation.

State of the art, Climate controlled polycarbonate greenhouse with fan pad-air cooling systems being fabricated under Atharvan.

A double allowed NFT channel for hydroponics being installed under Atharvan skill development centre.
