About Campus

Maitreyi college is committed to effective and holistic education. In-line with this vision, the ever-evolving college infrastructure facilitates an environment of experiment-based and experiential learning. The sprawling 10-acre campus houses varied facilities that enable students with high quality educational infrastructure and resources that supplement comprehensive growth.

The college campus is Wi-Fi-enabled, and the classrooms have ICT provisions (fixed/portable projectors and screens). The building comprises three sections- the Main Building, Old Science Block and the New Science Block. The Main Building comprises classrooms, lecture theatres, medical room and department rooms dedicated to Humanities and Commerce Departments. The Old Science Block has classrooms and a few labs. The updated infrastructure for the Sciences is housed in the New Science Block that is equipped with a lift, has a Seminar Hall, Science Labs, and Department Museums. The science departments comprise 16 state of the art laboratories that are well-lit, ventilated, and have arrangements for emergencies.

In addition to the above facilities, the college auditorium, video conferencing hall and seminar hall, with a seating capacity of 250, 100 and 100 respectively offer ample space for the co-curricular activities and cultural events periodically organized in the college. The two-floor well-stocked library houses about 99,000 books, a reading room and computer room.

To facilitate inclusive learning the college is equipped with accessible technology for the differently abled students and teachers. The college sports grounds and other allied facilities are also disabled friendly. Maitreyi has both outdoor and indoor sports facilities. Badminton court, Basketball synthetic court, Football field, Baseball and Softball field, Netball court, 200 mts Athletic grass track and a multipurpose hall for Judo, Yoga, Powerlifting and Chess. The college campus also has a Rock Garden and a Herbal Garden, in addition to the lush green lawns.

Various other infrastructural provisions, ensure comfort for students and faculty, increasing the efficiency of the teaching learning process. Bookshop, xerox point, canteen and the Mother Dairy kiosk have resources available in-house and at subsidized rates. Banking facilities are available within the college premises at the Punjab National Bank. CCTV cameras are installed in all necessary locations, the medical room provides basic healthcare and first-aid. A doctor for free consultation on appointed days and a qualified nurse on all working days are available.

These provisions are ensconced in a campus that is spacious, lush green and carries imprints of the excellence of students since 1967.
