About NCC

The National Cadet Corps, a youth organization, was started in 1948 with a motto of Unity and Discipline .

The NCC strives to be and is one of the greatest cohesive forces of the nation, bringing together the youth hailing from different parts of the country and molding them into united, secular, and disciplined citizens of the nation. NCC is an organization so big that it has over 15 lakh cadets all over India divided among 96 Headquarters and 814 battalions and squadrons. NCC provides an opportunity to experience those things/activities that no other organization can. NCC unit organizes various camps like Annual Training Camp, National Integration Camp, Trekking Camp, Annual Leadership Camp, Army Attachment Camp, Thal Sainik Camp, Chief Minister’s Rally, Prime Minister’s Rally, and Prestigious Republic Day Camp . It also inculcates many skills in cadets like public speaking, personality development, boosting confidence, concern towards the environment, etc. Also, if the aim is to join the Armed Forces, then NCC gives a glimpse of a soldier’s life. For those who dream to wear olive green, NCC is where the dream begins.

Maitreyi NCC is proudly associated with the Army Wing under the 3 Delhi Girls Battalion (3DGBN), C group, Delhi Directorate. NCC is a three-year voluntary course with a vacancy of 160 cadets (I yr + II yr + III yr). The Institutional training of the cadets starts right after the day of joining, which includes drill and theory classes.

Maitreyi cadets are active participants in various events organized at the unit level. Activities are conducted on various important days that are in the interest of social welfare, like World Environment Day, Kargil Vijay Diwas, International Yoga Day, Independence Day, Swachhata Pakhwada, Shram Dan, Blood donation, Tree plantation, etc.

Nishtha, the annual NCC fest, is organized with great zeal and enthusiasm and witnesses overwhelming participation from different colleges. It is not just a celebration, but a vibrant tribute to the cadet spirit–uniting passion, discipline and patriotic fervour under one roof. Nishtha isn’t just an event; it’s the heartbeat of every cadet’s journey.

In essence, Maitreyi NCC stands as a testament to the power of youth empowerment and community engagement. By upholding the values of discipline, service, and excellence, Maitreyi NCC continues to inspire generations of young leaders to strive for greatness and make meaningful contributions to society.
