Blossom: The Botanical Society

“Blossom” is the Botanical society of the Department of Botany. Blossom unfolds various facts of botany and provides a platform for the students to manifest their creativity and innovation. We encourage and nurture our budding botanists to become leaders and torch-bearers for tomorrow. We aim at providing a holistic approach of learning and personality development.

The Department of Botany has created a niche for itself by achieving high repute in academics and co- curricular activities. The society pursues a mantra of holistic development of a student's inculcation of scientific temper by supplementing the conventional classroom and well-equipped laboratories. Blossom regularly organizes various activities like seminars, conferences, talks by eminent personalities, quiz competitions and scientific debates for their interpersonal growth. Every year Blossom holds an inter college departmental fest which provides an opportunity to students to showcase their talents through various extracurricular and cultural activities.

Blossom also organizes an annual election to elect office bearers for the botanical society under various posts such as president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and student volunteers who dedicatedly work for organizing various activities under the society.

Goals and objectives of Blossom –

• To impart quality education in the field of botany to make a student acquire in-depth knowledge.
• To adequately equip the students to apply themselves meaningfully in any activity requiring botanical expertise.
• To produce well trained careers and inculcate the concept of biodiversity conservation.
• To provide a wide spectrum comprehension for various aspects of plants.

The mission of Botanical society 'Blossom'  is to contribute positively towards campus life of students by facilitating holistic development. The society aims for -

1. Inculcating a sense of team building and co-ordination 

2.  Promoting personal development 

3. Promoting management skills through organizing events and activities

4.  Facilitating networking opportunities which may help in career advancement 

5 Promoting professional development by developing leadership, time management and communication skills
