The fashion society of Maitreyi College, Galore symbolising Grace, Confidence, Attitude & Elegance has been active for more than a decade. At Galore, we aim to develop the creative and imaginative sense of our members through various activities related to fashion, like Modelling, Makeup Artistry, and Fashion Designing. Through our annual themes, we embrace the relevant social issues, with the goal of spreading awareness among our audience through Fashion. Galore, so far, has been a journey of immense growth from the declaration as the Best Fashion Society of DU, to bagging top positions in DU BEAT since the past 7-8 years. The society has been featured several times in Radio Mirchi, HT City & Delhi Times.
We aim to set a benchmark & give due importance to fashion as to any other co- curricular activity. Our forte is highlighting social issues and bringing them out through the medium of fashion. We dream of building not just a society but a community of students who like balancing studies with their extra curricular activities. Galore aims not only for winning shows but to stand together as one, that is what makes our galore family a home.
Galore is built by fashion lovers who set aside the norms of the society & break the stereotypes by their sterling performances and scintillating themes. Our garments, confidence, walk, music, choreography and persona are the most talked about. Galore has been in the limelight for its "out of the box themes", be it 'Balancing of Energy' with which we secured the first position at IIT Delhi, IIT Roorkee, Lingayas University, Delhi Technological University, Deshbandhu College, Shaheed Sukhdev College, Satyawati College, Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, among others, or the most recent theme: "Bionic Utopia", which aimed at depicting the boons and banes of technology in the highly digitalised world. The theme brought us the first position at IIT Delhi, Sri Aurobindo College, Acharya Narendra Dev College, among other positions.
The society annually conducts fashion competitions in the college. We host Regalia at the Sparkles Diwali Mela, which gives the participants a platform to showcase the ethnicity of different regions of India through fashion. Our annual event under Rhapsody is known as Forge, where different fashion societies participate to showcase their annual themes.
