Zeal, as the name suggests, symbolizes great energy and enthusiasm for achieving a goal, which reflects the Western dance society of Maitreyi College. We believe in working alongside our pillars, which are hard work, consistency, determination, and confidence. Initiated in the year 2013 and has been preserved ever since, Zeal is a legacy that our seniors passed on to us with love and responsibility. We’ve been an active participant in many events and have gathered multiple achievements. We are a family of dancers who believe in freedom of expression.
The society was started to bring together every budding dancer and to provide them with a path where they can strive to develop their strengths. Exploring many dance styles and introducing many in the Delhi dance circuit, we have experienced unparalleled growth. Still flourishing, this dance society aims to compose strong, unbending, and confident women. In Zeal, we believe in developing team spirit and growing as an individual, and as a whole team. We aim to dance together and win many competitions and hearts
As well said by Mikhail Baryshnikov “I do not try to dance better than anyone else, I only try to dance better than myself”, we focus on consistently trying to be the best version of ourself. Learning and dancing with passion & purpose, without fear and doubt and without an ounce of quit.
Zeal’s mission is to instill great love for dance while stirring self-confidence, discipline, and respect for performing art, taking part in both intra- and inter-college platforms through rigorous training. Focusing on the urge to strive daily for their personal best and support each other in fostering a sense of teamwork, and also to inspire every dancer to find creativity inside them. Zealians believe in open communication and encouragement.
Annual group dance competition – Match The Beat under Rhapsody, which gathers participation from various distinguished dance groups from the Delhi Dance Circuit.
